1. Who We Are
Vibe Coach is operated by Third Coast Labs LLC, doing business as Vibe Coach, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We build AI-powered cycling coaching tools. Questions about this policy can be directed to hello@cyclingvibecoach.com.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of information: • Account data: your name and email address, provided at sign-up. • Athlete profile: FTP, max heart rate, weight, VO2 max, training goals, coaching style preference, and target event details — provided by you in the app. • Strava activity data: when you connect your Strava account, we import recent ride records including date, duration, distance, average power, average heart rate, and elevation. We do not access your full Strava history — only recent activity relevant to your coaching context. • Usage data: standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use this data only for security and debugging purposes. • Images: screenshots you voluntarily upload to the chat for coaching analysis. These are processed in real time and not stored permanently.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to: • Provide personalized coaching recommendations and training plans. • Inject your ride history, athlete profile, and goals into the AI coaching context so responses are relevant to your actual training. • Improve the reliability and performance of the Service. • Respond to support requests you initiate. We do not use your personal data or ride activity for advertising, marketing to third parties, or any purpose unrelated to providing the coaching Service.
4. AI Processing and Anthropic
Vibe Coach uses Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic, PBC, to generate coaching responses. When you send a message, relevant context from your athlete profile and recent rides is included in the request sent to Anthropic's API. Important: Your personal data and ride activity are NOT used to train Anthropic's AI models. Anthropic processes API requests under a zero data retention policy for API customers. 5. Strava Data — Retention and Deletion
Per Strava's API Agreement, we retain Strava activity data for a maximum of 7 days from the date of import. After 7 days, ride records are automatically deleted from our database unless you re-sync. This deletion occurs via an automated cleanup process and applies to all users. You can disconnect your Strava account at any time from the Settings page. Upon disconnection, your stored Strava activity data is deleted immediately. Vibe Coach is Powered by Strava. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Strava, Inc.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except: • Anthropic, PBC — to process AI coaching requests via the Claude API, as described above. • Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which stores your account and athlete data on servers in the United States. • Strava, Inc. — solely to facilitate the OAuth connection you authorize. All third-party providers are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and restricted API key access. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled via Supabase's secure magic link and OAuth flows. Despite these measures, no system is perfectly secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique email address and to contact us immediately at hello@cyclingvibecoach.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Correct inaccurate data via the Settings page. • Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@cyclingvibecoach.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. • Disconnect your Strava account at any time from Settings. • Withdraw consent to our data processing at any time by deleting your account. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may also have rights under the GDPR. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA. Please contact us to exercise any of these rights.
9. Cookies and Local Storage
Vibe Coach uses browser localStorage to store your session state, athlete ID, and cached profile data for performance. We use a single authentication cookie to maintain your login session. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies of any kind.
10. Children's Privacy
Vibe Coach is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@cyclingvibecoach.com and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
